A huge flock of hundreds of pelicans landed on Macon Lake. Janice captured these big fluffy white birds with her camera and then composed this composition back in her home studio.
Janice's house is surrounded by woods and many creatures visit her yard on a daily basis. A fox visit is one of Janice's favorites.
Janice is always coming across nests in the trees near her house. She will collect and paint abandoned nests.
Janice has cherry trees in her back yard. As soon as the cherries ripen she gets on a ladder and fills as many buckets as she can before the birds eat them all. In boom crop years she will make cherry pie all year long. Janice is well known for her pies, especially cherry pie.
Janice has always loved the impressionists and you see the influence in this charming garden scene.
Janice's son, Christopher, lives near the St Louis Botanical Gardens. Janice's favorite spot to visit at the Gardens is the Coy Pond.
